Carolyn Sanders has been riding horses since the age of 9. She rode at a large stable that had many different kinds of horses and found she loved the challenge of riding any horse given to her with which to work. As an early teen, Carolyn made her first horse purchase. He was a "diamond in the rough" off the track. She later sold this thoroughbred for $10,000 and he went on to become a Grand Prix jumper.
Carolyn majored in Stable Management while attending college. At the age of 23, she turned professional and continued to buy, train, show, teach and sell horses while nurturing her business and evolving it into Sand Stone Farm, Inc. She groomed for many big name trainers during her formative years and was lucky enough to receive personal training from them as well. She also has attended many horse training clinics. Her clients and horses have advanced to National level competitions in the hunter/jumper and equitation world, taking home many championships. Carolyn has also managed many large stables, caring for all aspects of the horses' needs.
Carolyn has always had an excellent eye for seeing potential in horses, and matching horses to riders. This has been invaluable in purchasing and adopting out horses through SSFRE. Her learned skills in managing horses of all kinds ensures that the horses of SSFRE are also receiving the care that is needed regardless of their problems.
